Marciene Mattleman has previously been the founder and executive director of four non-profit initiatives, one of which, Philadelphia Futures, was honored at the White House by President Clinton. Mattleman was a professor at Temple University and served in the Clinton administration as chair of the National Institute for Literacy, a ten-person board advising the departments of education, labor and Health and human services on literacy issues. She is an education reporter on KYW Newsradio and serves on several non-profit boards. Her work centers on access and opportunity for youth from low-income families.
