Goal

The goal of the Pre-Professional Training (PPT) Program is to teach technical skills to students between the ages of 12 to 18 years while developing a deeper intellectual understanding of the arts in society. Note that the Pre-Professional Training Program is scheduled after school and does not serve as an academic program.

Program

The primary service of the intensive training program combines technical classes in ballet, pointe, jazz, and modern with choreography based on literary works and historical events. Each semester culminates in a community performance in which the students perform an original piece of choreography depicting the achievements of heroic individuals. Recent themes have included The Helen Keller Project and Great Speeches of The 20th Century.
